Works on any WordPress site
Point it at an address and it pulls nearby schools, hospitals, restaurants and transit from the Google Places API, with the radius you set and travel time estimates. Built for real estate listings and local directories.
What is nearby matters as much as the listing itself — and answering it on the page keeps people from leaving to go and find out.
Real places from the Google Places API, not a list you have to maintain yourself.
Set how far out to look, so a city listing and a rural one both return something sensible.
Show how long it takes to get there, which is what people actually want to know.
Schools, hospitals, restaurants, transit — show the categories that matter for the kind of listing it is.
More than one way to present the results, so it fits the template rather than dictating it.
Lookups are cached, so you are not paying Google for the same query every time someone loads the page.
No renewal, no subscription. Buy it and it is yours.

Do I need a Google Places API key?
Yes. The plugin queries Google Places using your own key, so the data and the billing relationship are yours rather than ours.
Will this run up a Google bill?
Results are cached, so repeat visits to the same listing do not trigger a fresh lookup. That is the main thing that keeps the cost down on a busy directory.
What kind of sites is it for?
Anywhere the surroundings sell the listing — real estate, rentals, local directories, venues. It works on any WordPress site and any post type that has an address.
Points of Interest is one of eleven Code Wattz plugins. Most work on any WordPress site; seven are built for the Voxel theme.
